Iyonix PC
|
The Iyonix PC is an Acorn-clone personal computer from Castle Technology Ltd.
Features include:
- Intel XScale (StrongARM) 80321 600MHz 32 bit processor
- two 64 bit and two 32 bit PCI ports
- RISC OS version 5 in hardware ROM module
- support for the Linux operating system [1] (http://www.drobe.co.uk/riscos/artifact673.html)
Being the first substantial new computer for the Acorn RISC OS/ARM platform since the Risc PC, the Iyonix PC fills a key position for RISC OS users. It is comparable with what the Phoebe PC should have been had Acorn not chosen in 1998 to withdraw from the personal-computer market.
The Iyonix also happens to be ideal for developing ARM-based PDA applications.
Units first went on sale in December 2002.
