Initial D Arcade Stage

Initial D Arcade Stage is a racing game series published by Sega based on the anime and manga Initial D.

For background story for the game, please refer to article Initial D

In Initial D Arcade Stage players race against different oppoents in various mountain passes featured in the manga. Players can choose what car and the customization he wants and save the these data and game progress into a magnetic card system that players can buy. From this way after every game the progress can be saved rather than lost. The player can also save his progress on one card and continue on another Initial D cabinet using that card.

Note that resuming from another arcade cabinet is subject to following conditions:
- It is not backwards compatible (i.e. a ver 2 card cannot be used on ver 1)
- The user must upgrade his or her card, which is permanent, if he or she wants to use a version 1 card on version 2 cabinet.
- You must renew your card after 50 plays.

There are four games released so far.

  • Initial D Arcade Stage (Arcade)
  • Initial D Arcade Stage Version 2 (Arcade)
  • Initial D Arcade Stage Version 3 (Arcade)
  • Initial D Special Stage (PlayStation 2)
