Imponderables is a series of ten books written by David Feldman. The books examine and explain how and why common phenomena, such as blowing on soup making it cool, work. The books are effecitvely a frequently asked questions list for people growing up and wondering why the world works as it does.

- How does blowing on soup cause it to cool? See equilibrium. There is equilibrium between the vapor in the air and the water in the soup. When you blow away the moist air, more water can evaporate and the soup is cooled by the amount of energy required to vaporise that much water.
