I am not a lawyer. I do not believe a case can be made for fair use of this image in articles on the Vietnam War, the photographer, or the subjects of the photo because the purpose of the photograph is to shed light on those topics and the use of the photograph in those articles (without permission) may dilute the value of the original work. -- ke4roh 17:31, Jul 5, 2004 (UTC)
- You are mistaken. This is the defining image of Vietnam. Do am image search of Kim Phuc Phan Thi. You'll find multiple news agencies using this photograph, including the BBC and CNN. You'll find multiple universities using this photograph. This very clearly falls under fair use. Stargoat 13:00, 13 Jul 2004 (UTC)
