As World War II ended, the United States developed an interest in the technical capability of the Germans. A team of American scientists was dispatched to Europe to collect information and equipment related to German rocket progress. "Project Paperclip" enabled the German rocket specialists to come to the United States to initiate advances in American rocketry.
- The last time I looked, there was a much better copy of this image hanging on the wall at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, along with an index of all the people pictured (there were a few unidentified). Someone in the area could take a photo of that print. -- ke4roh 23:48, 24 Jun 2004 (UTC)
