Gonzalo Sánchez de Lozada from http://www.rnw.nl/hotspots/html/bol020806.html with no copyright info
- Well, it looks like Radio Netherlands forgot to put a "©" on that page. At least at [1] (http://www.rnw.nl/), they do have a (albeit minuscule) © 2003 Radio Netherlands. Lupo 15:09, 7 Apr 2004 (UTC)
i am so sorry for nl radio but they should have thought about consequences earlier :) Avala 15:57, 7 Apr 2004 (UTC)
- Avala, you still don't get it: even if there is no explicit copyright statement, that does not mean that the image is copyright-free! Furthermore, a lot of sites put a copyright statement in one place only (e.g., the main page) instead of repeating it over and over, but nevertheless the whole site contents may copyrighted. Newspapers and TV and radio stations are particularly likely to use pictures that actually are copyrighted by some news agency such as AP. They may do so if they have a contract with the news agency and pay them a (hefty) fee. Wikipedia, as far as I know, has no contract with any news agency, and thus cannot use such images. At the utmost, you could provide a fair use rationale. Lupo 16:08, 7 Apr 2004 (UTC)
ok but still only under us law you do not have to put copyright statement(this is netherlands radio and former lozada president of bolivia) but ok i think it is fair use because it was used only in that article which is not valid anymore as a news article or something because lozada is now living in usa and on the other hand he look awful on this picture so it`s another reason for fair use:) joke only:) Avala 16:23, 7 Apr 2004 (UTC)
