Idiopathic hypoglycemia
|
Idiopathic or common hypoglycemia is a condition in which the glucose level in the blood (blood glucose) is abnormally low. Unlike other forms of hypoglycemia, this variety is not caused by medication, drugs, or illness, as implied by the term idiopathic. In severe or recurrent cases, and especially if there is a (family) history of multiple endocrine neoplasia (MEN), insulinoma has to be ruled out by diagnostic testing.
