"I, Borg" was an episode of the television show Star Trek: The Next Generation.
This episode explored the concept of the Borg by introducing a new aspect: a Borg with aspects of individuality. (See Borg on why this is an apparent oxymoron.) The Borg himself, left without a name, was dubbed 'Hugh' by the crew of the Enterprise-D. The episode caused the characters to reconsider their attitudes toward their enemy, as well as exploring the nature of individuality.
Though Hugh, at first, consistently refers to himself as "We," out of a habit of talking for the entire Borg collective, his interactions with the crew cause him to eventually refer to himself as "I" and develop humanlike characteristics that the other crew members argue about througout the episode. Picard decides to send Hugh back to the Borg, intending to spread the individualism that Hugh has gained throughout the Collective and, therefore, incapacitate their greatest enemy.
