Humanoid robot
|
fr:humanoïde A humanoid robot is a robot with its overall appearance based on that of the human body. In general humanoid robots have a torso with a head, two arms and two legs -- although some forms of humanoid robots may model only part of the body, for example, from the waist up. Some humanoid robots may also have a 'face', with 'eyes' and 'mouth'.
Examples of humanoid robots:
- ASIMO
- Qrio and the previous SDR-4X and SDR-3X generations
- Cog
- GuRoo
- Kismet (robot)
- PINO
- HOAP 2 (http://www.automation.fujitsu.com/en/products/products09.html)
- Sarcos Robot
- Robonaut (http://robonaut.jsc.nasa.gov/)
- Arguably KHR-1 because it lacks any sensor
An android or gynoid is an artificially created being, (often robotic), that closely resembles a human. A cyborg is a humanoid mix of organic and robotic parts.
