Huambo

Huambo is the capital city of Huambo Province in Angola. Established by Portuguese in 1912. Thriving city in the colonial period, named Nova Lisboa (New Lisbon) between 1928 and 1975. Modern Huambo is a transportation center on the Benguela Railway, and food processing and the repair of railroad equipment are its most important industries.
