Hong Kong Baptist University (abbr. HKBU) is a public-funded tertiary institution with a Christian education heritage. Founded in 1956, it is the second-oldest institution of higher learning in Hong Kong. It was formerly known as the Hong Kong Baptist College, in 1994 it was officially upgraded to have full university status.
The campus is located in the urban Kowloon Tong, it consists of three parts, the Ho Sin Hang Campus, the Shaw Campus and the Baptist University Road Campus.
The current president is Prof. Ng Ching-fai.

The Baptist University Emblem consists of three pictorial elements: the Bible, waves and knots.
The Bible symbolises the unique quality of Christian education which includes moral and spiritual training in addition to academics.
The waves, on the other hand, symbolise both Hong Kong's geographic nature as an island, echoing Confucius' dictum that the "the wise love water" and the University's continuing effort to improve its educational quality.
Knots, the final symbol, illustrate that within God's embrace, Christians are harmoniously linked.
Logo

The logo was adopted after the acquisition of university status in 1994. Derived from elements of the University emblem, the logo embodies the book and water motifs. The acronym "BU" coupled with the outlined book resembles the Chinese characters of welcome and progress, conceptualising the merging of eastern and western cultures.
The University logo received a commendation at a design competition held in October 1996. The Hong Kong Designers Association awarded a Certificate of Merit at the Design 96 Show to Kan & Lau Design Consultants for creating the logo.
