Homes Not Jails

Template:Anarchism Homes Not Jails is an American organization which describes itself as "an autonomous group of individuals whose mission is to end homelessness and abolish the prison industrial complex."
They have, both overtly and covertly, occupied abandoned houses and turned them into housing for the homeless. They are concerned with rising poverty in the United States and the difficulty of low-income families to afford housing. They are also opposed to the present prison system in the United States, noting that it currently holds over two million incarcerated persons which are disproportionately poor and minorities relative to the general population.
There are three chapters of Homes Not Jails: Boston, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C..
