Hochelaga is the name of a federal electoral district in Quebec, Canada. Its population is 100,934 . (2001)
Geography
The district includes the neighbourhood of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, the eastern parts of the neighbourhoods of Rosemont and Sainte-Marie and the western part of the neighbourhood of Longe-Pointe in the City of Montreal.
History
The electoral district of Hochelaga was created in 1867 covering the entire eastern part of the Island of Montreal. In 1976, the district of Hochelaga—Maisonneuve was created from Hochelaga and Maisonneuve. In 2004, the name was changed to Hochelaga.
