Henry S. Johnston

Henry Simpson Johnston (1867–1965) was the governor of the U.S. state of Oklahoma from 1927 until 1929.
He was a member of the U.S. Democratic Party. He failed to adequately handle the state's many problems, including the Dust Bowl and was accused of collaborating with the Ku Klux Klan. He was removed from office by impeachment in 1929.
It would be nearly 60 years before another U.S. governor was impeached—Governor Evan Mecham of Arizona in 1988.
