Helmsdale

Helmsdale is a village on the east coast of the Highland region of Scotland. Originally founded in the nineteenth century as a fishing port, it lies on the River Helmsdale, known for gold prospecting.
The village, which lies on the A9 road, has a youth hostel, and a heritage centre and art gallery. Traditionally in the county of Sutherland, it is also home to Bunillidh Thistle F.C.
