Hank Hill

Hank Hill is the fictional protagonist of the animated television show King of the Hill. In the cartoon the Hill family (wife Peggy, son Bobby, and niece Luanne Platter) has a central role in most story lines, which are set mostly in the fictional town of Arlen, Texas. Hank Hill's voice is provided by Mike Judge.
Biography
Hank was born Henry Rutherford Hill in 1953 in New York City, and proudly sells propane and propane accessories as an assistant manager at Strickland Propane. Unlike his cartoon antagonist, M. F. Thatherton, Hank believes that selling propane through honesty and hard work are what life is all about. He sometimes has trouble selling propane, because M.F. Thatherton often takes advange of Hank's honesty. Hank idolizes Buck Strickland, the owner of Strickland Propane, even as he is aware of his boss's many shortcomings (excessive gambling, womanizing, and general lewdness).
He only has one child, Bobby, but would have more if not for his narrow urethra. He is often frustrated by Bobby's innocently effeminate tendencies and disappointed that his son is hardly interested in sports.
Hank suffers from a genetic disorder called diminished gluteal syndrome. His essentially non-existent rear end causes stress on his spine and forces him to wear an "orthogluteal" prosthesis.
Hank drives a red Ford Ranger pickup truck in later episodes he drives a red Ford F350 pickup truck, and gives great love and affection to his lawn, while also clearly caring greatly about his family. He is sometimes naive, but he is generally tolerant of people different than him. He intensely dislikes the idea of being considered a 'redneck'.
Hank's reserved nature probably resulted from years of abuse from his chauvinistic father Cotton Hill. Hank considers himself very handy and is often frustrated at the incompentencies of the hardware department employees of Mega Lo Mart.
He is a staunch conservative, though had some second thoughts about voting for President Bush in the 2000 election because of the candidate's weak handshake. His dog, Lady Bird is named after the wife of Lyndon Johnson which arouses suspicions that he might have some Democrat leanings (if only Texas Democrats). He is also a supporter of labor unions, particularly the truckers’ union. In one episode Bobby chose to do a school report on his favourite president, Josiah Bartlet of the fictional show The West Wing. When Hank found out he scolded Bobby, who proceeded to do his report on Ronald Reagan.
In his spare time, he enjoys standing in the alley behind his house drinking Alamo beer with lifelong friends Dale Gribble, Bill Dauterive, and Boomhauer. Hank is also a rabid Dallas Cowboys fan, who once tried to see the inaugural Cowboys-Texans game. When he watches baseball, he favors the Texas Rangers over the Houston Astros. In basketball, he prefers the Dallas Mavericks over the Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs.
In high school, Hank was a star football player.
Hank is 6'2" and weighs 210 pounds, giving him a Body Mass Index of 27.
Hank Hill is based on Mike Judge's own father.
