HMS Conqueror

Nine vessels of the British Royal Navy have been named HMS Conqueror.
- The first Conqueror was an 8-gun fire ship captured from the French in 1745 and sold in 1748.
- The second Conqueror was a 70-gun third-rate launched in 1758 and wrecked off Plymouth two years later.
- The third Conqueror was a 74-gun third-rate launched 1773 and broken up in 1794.
- The fourth Conqueror was a 74-gun third-rate launched 1801 and broken up in 1822.
- The fifth Conqueror was a screw-propelled 101-gun first-rate, launched in 1855 and wrecked in the West Indies in 1861.
- The sixth Conqueror was a battleship launched in 1881 and sold 1907.
- The seventh Conqueror was a battleship launched in 1911 and sold 1922.
- The eighth Conqueror was to have been a 42,500 ton battleship. Laid down 16 August 1939, construction was suspended in October and cancelled entirely the following year.
- The ninth Conqueror (S48) was a nuclear submarine launched in 1969, notable for service in the Falklands War as the only nuclear submarine ever to sink an enemy warship, and paid off in 1990.
