HMAS Shepparton
|
Two ships of the Royal Australian Navy have been named for the city of Shepparton in Victoria.
The first HMAS Shepparton (J-248/M-248) was a Bathurst class corvette built by the Williamstown Dockyard at Melbourne, launched on 15 August 1942 by Lady Goudle, wife of the Commissioner of Public Works in Victoria, and commissioned on 1 February 1943. HMAS Shepparton paid off to reserve on 10 May 1946, was sold for scrap on 20 February 1958 and towed to Japan by the Shitako Maru.
The second HMAS Shepparton is a survey motor launch built by Eglo Engineering in Adelaide.
