The Googleplex is the Google company headquarters, located in Mountain View, Santa Clara County, California, near San Francisco. The word Googleplex is a play on the word googolplex, and a portmanteau of Google and complex—googolplex being the name given to <math>10^{10^{100}}<math>, or one followed by a googol zeroes, and the headquarters comprising a complex of buildings (it is also similar to words like "multiplex" and "cineplex"). There are certain values that Google claims are upheld at the Googleplex, e.g. large rubber balls, shade lamps.
Google has also been known to recruit employees via posting highly difficult mathematical and computer programming tests on the internet for the public to attempt. Those who successfully complete the test become eligible to work for Google. Template:Corp-stub
Googleplex is also the abbreviated name of a very powerful computer in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams:
- 'And are you not,' said Fook leaning anxiously forward, 'a greater analyst than the Googleplex Star Thinker in the Seventh Galaxy of Light and Ingenuity which can calculate the trajectory of every single dust particle throughout a five-week Dangrabad Beta sand blizzard?'nl:Googleplex
