He received acknowledgement in 2002 of his lineal descent from the Ottoman Empire Imperial House of Osmanli from His Majesty Prince Ertuğrul Osman V, Prince of Turkey, 43rd Head of the Imperial House of Osmanli. He was also recognised as the Head of the House of Said and uses the titles of Principe de Sayd and Bibino Magno (Papal, H.R.E, Austria France, Spain, Two Sicilies and Savoy), Hereditary Knight of the Holy Roman Empire, Hereditary Noble and Patrician of Ferrera and Reggio, Messina, Venice and in Rome.
In 1967 he went on holidays to Sydney, Australia to see his older Uncle where he met his wife; they settled there. He was involved in several businesses and associations and now is semi-retired in Australia and Malta.
