Freedomland U.S.A.

Freedomland U.S.A. (usually just called Freedomland) was a short-lived themed amusement park in the Baychester area in northeastern part of the Borough of The Bronx, New York City.
Freedomland was opened on June 19, 1960 and closed at the end of the 1964 season, citing competition from the 1964 New York World's Fair.
The park's original concept was history-themed, and the park was arranged like a large map of the United States of America. Later the history exhibits and events were overshadowed by more conventional amusements.
The location of Freedomland is now occupied by the large residential development Co-op City.
