Frank Soltis

Frank Soltis, an American computer scientist, is IBM's Chief Scientist for the iSeries computers. Based on his Ph.D. research, his architecture first appeared in the IBM System 38 and later in the IBM AS/400, with a technology-independent machine interface and single-level addressability.
Soltis' By Design column appears in iSeries News (http://www.iseriesnetwork.com/) magazine. His books include Inside the AS/400 and Fortress Rochester, The Inside Story of the IBM iSeries. Soltis led the design of the POWER architecture currently used in the IBM iSeries and pSeries computers. In addition to his IBM responsibilities, he is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Minnesota, where he teaches graduate courses on high-performance computer architecture.nl:Frank Soltis
