Francisco Gabilondo Soler (1907, Orizaba - 1990, Texcoco) was a composer of children's songs, who became very famous by broadcasting a radio show for many years aimed at kids for which he created a character named Cri-Cri El Grillito Cantor (Cri Cri The Singing Cricket). His songs are quite famous throughout Latin America. Before his death, he participated in a memorial concert with Eugenia León, and he sang Bombón 1º, El ropero and La merienda. Gabilondo's songs were also recorded by the opera singer Plácido Domingo and the French singer Mireille Mathieu among other world-famous performers. He recorded Cri-Cri por el mundo (Cri-Cri for the world), and Serie Platino.
