Francine "Francie" Calfo, played by Merrin Dungey, was Sydney Bristow's close friend on the television series, Alias.
Bio
Francie was the best friend of Sydney Bristow, with the two being roommates for some time. During the early parts of the show, Sydney was tormented by having to keep her espionage lifestyle hidden from her closest friends, especially Francie. Francie would act as an occasional sounding board and confidante for some of Sydney's personal issues.
Francie eventually decided to open a restaurant and then became romantically involved with her friend, Will Tippin. However, midway through the second season, on orders from Sloane and Sark, Francie was killed and replaced by a genetic doppelganger, Allison Doren, in an effort to get close to Sydney. Allison - who was Sark's lover - maintained Francie's relationship with Will. At the end of the second season, Will and Sydney both begin to suspect that Allison is a fake. Allison appears to kill Will (though it would later be revealed that he survived the attack), and then battles Sydney in viscious hand-to-hand combat before Sydney shoots her twice, apparently killing her. She later turns up alive in the third season, only to be killed - possibly for real this time - by Will.
