The Forbes 400 is an annual list published by Forbes magazine of the wealthiest 400 people in the United States. At the top of the list is Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft, with a net worth of 48 billion dollars. The 400th wealthiest person in the United States, Norman W Waitt, Jr., co-founder of Gateway, has a net worth of 750 million dollars. Other prominent names include Warren Buffett and Teresa Heinz Kerry, the wife of 2004 Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry.
