Fine art pot

The fine art pot aspires to the conditions of art, often placing functionality in the background. It is the opposite of the ethical pot (or utilitarian pottery). These two positions originate from the anxiety of a place and definition for the crafts in the age of industrialisation and mechanised-production. Modern ceramic artists/potters often engage in what has become know as "the Art vs. Craft debate".
