Pokédex Definition

Unlike Spearow, Fearow has very large wings, which means it can stay aloft for a very long time without ever landing to rest. Whenever it senses danger, it flies high and away. When it wants to strike its prey, Fearow will plummet towards it from high in the air.

Name origin

The name "Fearow" originates from "Fear" because Fearow is supposed to be feared, and "sparrow", a type of bird. Also, it bears a similarity to "Spearow", its pre-evolution.

Anime Appearances

In the Pokémon anime, Fearow are often used as a fierce enemy of a character Ash Ketchum befriends, or else they're in the possession of a Pokémon Trainer. However, there is one Fearow that attacks Ash mercilessly when he tries to return to Pallet Town after the Pokémon League which is the Spearow that he tried to capture in the first episode that had evolved after so much time.
