Farah Province
|
Farah province is one of the thirty-four provinces of Afghanistan. It is in the west of the country. Its capital is Farah. The people of Farah are considered very courageous and hard working in nature and have a reputation for their interest in land and money, the latter mainly due to the deprivation the city has been historically subjected to.
Some of the things Farah is associated with are dried meat, bigomy (among the less educated ones) and the norm of people having a minimum of four children.
The city is considered a patriarchical one, where the tribal leaders, almost always men, are respected greatly. Family pride is given the highest importance and members of family are taught to respect it and ensure that it is maintained at all times.
