Fangirl

Fangirl refers to a member of female fandom as opposed to male fanboys. This is often an important distinction if their behavior is considered different than men. Commonly, fangirls are less interested in debates on canon, and more interested in the (often romantic) relationships between fictional characters, such as slash and shipping fanfic.
'Fangirl' can be derogatory, though it can also be self-referrential in a facetious manner.
