Eurail Pass
|
A Eurailpass is a pass which allows railway travel and some shipping travel in 17 European countries:
- Austria
- Belgium
- Denmark
- Finland
- France
- Germany
- Greece
- Hungary
- Italy
- Luxembourg
- Netherlands
- Norway
- Portugal
- Republic of Ireland
- Spain
- Sweden
- Switzerland
It can only be purchased by non-European residents: the prohibition also covers residents of Turkey, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia or the Commonwealth of Independent States. It is cheaper and more easily available outside Europe.
There are also other versions of the Eurail pass such as the SelectPass, SaverPass and others. These generally allow a pass holder to choose different sets of countries, or even specific countries for different periods of time. The passes are usually valid for either 15 days, 30 days or 60 days from the date they are first used.
