English Canada
|
English Canada is a term used to describe either:
- the anglophone residents of Canada or
- the Canadian provinces other than Quebec and, sometimes, New Brunswick, in which French is an official language of the provincial governments.
The population of English Canada (all provinces other than Quebec) is 24,673,363. This would become the population of Canada if Quebec gains sovereignty. Yet English Canada is often referred to (either dismissively or ironically, depending on the speaker's point of view) as the ROC (Rest of Canada). See: Canada
