Edward Needles Hallowell

Template:Infobox Biography Edward Needles Hallowell was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on November 3 1836 to Morris Hallowell and Hannah Penrose, and died on July 26 1871 in Medford, Massachusetts. He had two children, Charlott and Emily Hallowell, with his wife, Charlotte Bartlett Wilhelmina Swett.
He helped lead the 55th Massachusetts Regiment, one that trained and fought with the 55th Massachusetts, lead by Robert Gould Shaw, both of which were regiments that featured white abolitionists and black slaves fighting together for black freedom. He fought at the battle of Olustee and Fort Wagner.
