Dojin game
|
Dōjin game (同人ゲ−ム, also romanised as Doujin Game) in Japan is an informal term for computer games created by non-professionals, mostly for fun but sometimes for profit.
The term is related to dojinshi, which describes similarly non-official comics. In the past, Dōjin games were considered to have nudity, violence or something very unusual; but nowadays some Dōjin games are well-designed, and become very popular in Japan (and surrounding areas, such as China, Hong Kong and Taiwan). for example, the famous action game Ragnarok Battle Offline designed by French-Bread, and the vertical shooting games designed by Team Shanghai Alice. Some famous Dōjin game design groups even become commercial companies, such as Type-MOON, which designed Tsukihime.
