Divine healing
|
Divine healing is claimed by many religious people as the phenomenon of a person being healed by the direct intervention of God.
Most Christian movements believe that God does heal people, as a phenomenon mortals cannot control, but for which mortals can intercede. On the other hand, many people, including the skeptical community, believe reports of spontaneous or miraculous healing are mistaken or fraudulent, or else caused by some form of placebo effect.

Doctrine of divine healing
Some Christial evangelical movements, like Full Gospel, Pentecostal, and Charismatic, believe in a doctrine providing for healing to be achieved through prayer, faith, and the laying on of hands. This doctrine postulates that Jesus has done everything he needed to do in order to provide for healing, and hence all mortals have to do in order to receive that healing is to meditate on the Bible and pray with faith to God.
