Dianne Reeves

Dianne Reeves, born in Detroit, Michigan in 1956, is an American jazz singer, known more for her live performances than her albums. A graduate of the University of Colorado, she performed with Clark Terry, and was a session musician in Los Angeles in 1976. Afterwards, she toured with Sergio Mendes and Harry Belafonte in 1981 and 1984, respectively. In 1982 she released her first album as a solo artist, and rapidly became a fixture within the jazz/blues festival circuit. In 1994 she joined Blue Note. In 2004, she received a Grammy Award of "Best jazz vocal album" for A Little Moonlight.
