Dauphin—Swan River—Marquette (formerly Dauphin—Swan River) is the name of a federal electoral district in Manitoba, Canada. Its population is 77,586 (2001). Its current Member of the Canadian Parliament is Inky Mark. Previous to Mark, the riding was held by Marlene Cowling, a Liberal. Mark was elected in 1997 and now sits as a Conservative.
Geography
The riding is located in between southern and central Manitoba, west of Lake Winnipegosis and Lake Manitoba.
History
The electoral district was created in 1903 from Macdonald, Marquette, and Saskatchewan (Provisional District). It was known as Dauphin until 1983.
