Dagwood Bumstead is a fictional character in the comic strip Blondie, who was introduced on February 17, 1933. He came from a wealthy family who disowned him for marrying below his class. He has since worked hard at J.C. Dithers Construction Company to support his family. Dagwood is sometimes clumsy and he also likes his Dagwood sandwich.
