Crix Madine

Template:SW Character Crix Madine is a fictional general from the Star Wars universe, portrayed by Dermot Crowley. He is seen in the film Return of the Jedi announcing the capture of an Imperial shuttle and commissioning the crew, headed by then-General Han Solo, to pilot it to Endor. He can also be seen at the Hoth rebel base in The Empire Strikes Back.
Prior to his movie appearance, General Madine was an Imperial special-forces operative who executed many black ops missions for the Empire. He also started the Storm Commandos training program. However, one particularly heinous mission led him to rebel against the Empire and join the Rebel Alliance. Shortly afterward, he became head of the Alliance's special forces.
General Madine's distinguished career was cut tragically short when he was executed by Durga the Hutt after his failed infiltration of the Death Star-like Darksaber battle station in 11 ABY. This event is documented in Kevin J. Anderson's Star Wars novel "Darksaber".
Some material from the Expanded Universe of Star Wars (the role playing game from West End Games) states that Gen. Madine was Corellian (like Han Solo). That is that he was born and raised on a world in the star system of Corellia.
He also appears in the PC game Dark Forces in which he must be rescued from an Imperial correctional facility.
