Crimson Chin
|
The Crimson Chin is a comic-book superhero from the animated series The Fairly OddParents. Timmy Turner, a central character on the show, is a big fan of his.
The Crimson Chin, like Captain Proton or Reptar, can be thought of as a meta-fiction character, in that they are fictional within the fiction franchises for which they were designed. In reference to his voice actor, the Chin was originally a popular late-night talk show host who gained his powers by being bitten on the chin by a radioactive celebrity; since then, he has taken the responsibility of protecting the city of Chincinatti, taking the secret identity of Charles Hampton Indigo for the local newspaper, The Daily Blabbity. This is an obvious spoof of Spider-Man, as Peter Parker is bitten on the hand by a radioactive spider and he works for the Daily Bugle.
In some of the adventures involving the Crimson Chin, Timmy enters the comic books he is reading (thanks to Cosmo and Wanda) and takes the role of Cleft, the Boy Chin Wonder (a tribute to Robin), and acts as his sidekick. Wanda and Cosmo, in turn, act as Timmy's two dog sidekicks, Ace and Clefto (a tribute to Batman's and Superman's respective super-pets).
The Crimson Chin also has a selection of villains in his rogues gallery, consisting of:
The Body of Evil
- The Bronze Kneecap - This knee-themed badguy became the Crimson Chin's enemy when the Chin beat the Kneecap at a figure-skating contest (or something like this), leaveing the Kneecap in 3rd for the upteenth time. The Chin rubbed it in his face, so the Kneecap melted down all his bronze 3rd-place trophies into a high-tech suit and became a supervillain. He would stop if the Chin apoligized for rubbing salt in the wound, but the Chin refuses to.
