Cremlingen is a municipality of 12,600 inhabitants (2003) in Wolfenbüttel, Lower Saxony. It was created in 1974 by joining the municipalities of:
- Abbenrode
- Cremlingen
- Destedt
- Gardessen
- Hemkenrode
- Hordorf
- Klein Schöppenstedt
- Schandelah
- Schulenrode
- Weddel
The village of Cremlingen proper has a population of 2,500 (2003).
Cremlingen is the location of a large transmission site for medium wave, the transmitter Cremlingen, used for broadcasting the program of Deutschlandfunk.
