Constance M. K. Applebee

Constance M. K. Applebee (February 24, 1873 - January 26, 1981) is best known for introducing field hockey to the United States in 1901.
Originally born in Chigwell, Great Britain, Applebee came to America in 1896. Applebee founded the American Field Hockey Association in 1901 and headed it for 20 years. She was also the head editor of Sportswoman, a magazine designed for women atheletes. She was also known by her nickname, "the Apple".pl:Constance Applebee
