Colfax Avenue
|
Colfax Avenue the main street that runs east and west through the Denver Metropolitan Area. It is also the longest continuous road in the United States. Before the Interstate Highway System was constructed it served as U.S. Highway 40 (it still is but is not used as a highway). For most of its length Colfax contains commercial buildings and is generally a four-lane street. In the east it passes through Aurora, Colorado, then Denver proper, then on the west, through Lakewood, Colorado.
