Cody Posey (born 1990) is suspected, by New Mexico police, of three murders.
Posey and his family were hired in 2001 by ABC reporter Sam Donaldson, to take care of one of Donaldson's ranches, in Chavez Canyon, New Mexico.
He is the son of Delbert Paul Posey, one of the people found dead at the ranch.
On July 7, 2004, Posey was arrested for the deaths of his father, his stepmother Tryone Posey and his stepsister, Mary Lee Schmid, who was also fourteen. According to police reports, the three bodies were found in shallow graves.
According to New Mexico state laws, he could be tried as a juvenile or as an adult, in which case he could face up to thirty years in jail.
Sam Donaldson described Cody Posey as "withdrawn, like any typical teenager".
