Cisjordan is a region in the Middle East. Cisjordan is defined as being the region west of the Jordan River and east of the Mediterranian Sea, bordered on the south by Egypt and on the north by Lebanon. The name Cisjordan is used in romance languages like French and Spanish to refer to 'this side of' the river Jordan. Cisjordan is often used in contrast to Transjordan.
