Chicago Bears Shufflin' Crew
|
The Chicago Bears Shufflin' Crew was a novelty act consisting of a group of Chicago Bears football players in 1985 rapping a song called "The Super Bowl Shuffle". The music was composed by Bobby Daniels and Lloyd Barry, and the lyrics were written by Richard E. Meyer and Melvin Owens.
"The Super Bowl Shuffle" was nominated for a 1986 Grammy award (Best Rhythm & Blues Vocal Performance—Duo or Group), a first for a sports team. The Shufflin' Crew lost to Prince and the Revolution's "Kiss."
Proceeds from the sales of the single went to charity.
