Chevelle is an alternative metal band from Grayslake, IL comprised of three brothers with the surname Loeffler. They formed in 1994 and broke out in 2002 with their signature song, "The Red." Although Chevelle is classified as an alternative metal band, they have frequently been called a christian rock band, although they have stated in many interviews that their religious beliefs have little influence with their lyrics. Other popular songs include "Send the Pain Below," and "The Clincher," which has gained a high status on many popular rock stations. One such station, 97 X, based out of Central Florida, has received over 500 requests for the song, and plays it on average four times a day.
Originally signed to Squint Entertainment, Chevelle is now signed to Epic Records.
