- A fashion label, "Cherokee of California," was a major manufacturer of women's platform shoes in the late 1970s and 1980s, then branched out into casual clothing, and eventually degenerated into little more than a licensing company.
- Cherokee is also the name of a song by the rock band Europe about the tribe and the Trail of Tears.
