Chemist
|
Template:Wiktionary A chemist is a scientist who specializes in chemistry. The word derives from the older term alchemist.
'Chemist' is a relatively wide term in the scientific world, as chemists may specialise in different sub-fields of chemistry, thus being named accordingly: organic chemist, inorganic chemist, analytical chemist, theoretical chemist, electrochemist, biochemist, or geochemist, to name but a few.
Also, in British English, the term is used for a pharmacist or a pharmacist's shop.
