Chatyrdag

Chatyrdag (Tšatõrdag; Čatyrdag, gora / Чатырдаг, гора / Chatyrdag, gora; Tsadir-Tah ) is a mountain in Crimea, near Simferopol'-Alushta highway. In the Crimean Tatar language chatir means tent and dag means mountain.
The mountain consists of two platoes - the lower (north) and the higher (south). The lower plato slopes gently toward its north side, which is covered with steppe grass. On its south end (near the steep slope of the higher plato) the lower plato is covered with beech forests and juniper glades. There it carries a lot of sloggyes and several beautiful caves (see a list below). On the east side of the lower plato there's a relic grove of yews.
The upper plato has a shape of a giant bowl and its most high edges have their own names as independent peaks. The upper plato is covered with alpine meadows. Its steeps are very sharp and contain climbing and alpinistic routs of all hardness categories.
