Charles Goerens

Charles Goerens (born 1952) is a politician from Luxembourg. He served as the defense minister of Luxembourg in the government of Jean-Claude Juncker from August 7 1999 until July 31 2004. He also briefly served as foreign minister from July 20, 2004, until July 31, 2004. He lost these posts when Juncker had to form a new coalition government after the June 2004 parliamentary elections. Before becoming defense minister, Goerens was a member of the European Parliament for the five-year term from 1994 until 1999.
